Dunes

So after me and the hubby had Thanksgiving with the in-laws and my mom, we packed up, dropped off my daughter, and headed out to the dunes to meet up with my brother and sister in law who were already out there!!  We spent the weekend playing in the sand!!  So much fun!! Can't wait till next year, we will have my daughter and nephew join in on the fun!!

Here's some pics of the trip!

Unpacking the quads and getting ready for our first ride for the day!!

The great wall of Mexico, yep that's how close we were!!

Our first ride was to the diner for some yummy breakfast!!

This was Luke's heart attack bowl.  It consisted of biscuits and gravy, hash browns, over easy eggs, bacon, sausage, and country fried steak.  CRAZY!!

Then we went out to find some sand!!

Luke getting ready to go up the dunes

Luke and my brother taking a water break and letting the quads cool down before ripping it up in the sand!

The boys up in the dunes, yep Luke got stuck, but at least he didn't fall off or get hurt!!

The boys

Of course, I spotted some dirtbikes coming down competition hill!!

Jeremy going up comp hill

And my brother made it down!!

The little speck is Luke making it up comp hill!!

He almost made it to the top

Yep, thats me and the hubby watching all the madness going up the hill!!

Some of the kids that were in the camp with us have 90s and they raced around the campfire and made their own track, here is one of the boys, which is 9 I think, jumping over the brim that they made.  So cute!!

The kids in the monster golf cart making their rounds, lol.

Back at the diner for breakfast again for day 2.  I just loved our helmets sitting together, lol.

These were the two little boys going up the hills in their quads, I had to stay behind them for them to teach me a thing or two, lol.  :)

One of the guys at the camp that we bought the quads from had his new RZR 900 out there and he took my brother out for a ride, here I missed their jump over the dune. And in the back ground was some people trying to sand surf down the sand dune, I had video of the girl falling down the hill but I some how erased it :(

Some sand rails sitting at the bottom of the hill that we were playing on.

Fun times!!  Can't wait till next year!!

Turkey's for Turkey Day!!

Happy late Thanksgiving!!  Hope everyone had a great holiday!!  I certainly did!!

I got an email with these cuties to make for our Thanksgiving table.  So Wed, while I was "working" :) I made these cute turkey napkin holders.  So fun!!

I started with a bouquet of flowers, that I found at hobby lobby for 90% off!!  Yes, I walked out of there spending $5.00!!

I disassembled these flowers, I took them off the stems and then pulled all the pieces apart to make separate layers.

Then I glued the layers together to make the turkey feathers!!

I then cut the turkey bodies and noses out of felt.

All my turkey feather flowers sitting out to dry.  We had about 24 people at the inlaws so I made 13 flowers to be able to make 26 turkeys

I then glued the turkey bodies on to the feathers

Then glued those to the napkin rings, in which I got 24 napkin rings at the dollar store for 7 cents.  Yes I was scoring big for this project!!

Aren't they so cute!!

Then I had my daughter go around the table and put the ring around the napkin and utensils on the plates!

And then me and the hubby sat in front of the tv after stuffing ourselves to watch his packers win on Thanksgiving :)

Random Pics

I just love when I'm stuck working on a Sunday and I happen to get a random picture from my hubby.

Apparently they were playing around at Walmart while I was working and my lovely daughter finds a Angry Birds hat.  Very fitting, I must say!

And I saw this on my way to work yesterday.  I thought it was so pretty.  Sorry, that's my dad in me coming out, lol.  :)

And don't you all wish you rotated shifts at work with your momma who leaves you cute little notes for you to find when you work the following day :)
Thanks mom!!

Ciera's Gymkhana

So sat was a busy day for us too.  You can just say one crazy week for me!!
I was with Janiece for her volleyball game, while the hubby was with Ciera at her Gymkhana, until Janiece game was over then I was able to catch the end of Ciera's rodeo!!
She did pretty good.  She is used to Valentino, which is my mother-in-law horse, who is getting old and can't keep up on these rodeo's anymore.  So Ciera has been trying to break in one of their other horses.  Although he was feeling pretty good yesterday and that means that he was acting up and didn't want to listen to Ciera.  So she ended up borrowing a different horse from my in-law's neighbor who was there with us also.

Warming up with Grammy

Doing her second pattern

Running back to the gate.  It's all a timed event, how fast they can run the pattern and if they do the pattern correctly.

Waiting for the last event with Grammy and her cousin

Running her last pattern

On the way back to the gate.  I think she took 3rd on this event!!  She ended up with three ribbons altogether!

Crushers Game

Well the crushers lost another game.  But even though they lost, I am really enjoying watching Janiece play with the other girls.  She did a great job this game communicating with her team mate on who was going after the ball.  And she even spiked a few!!  After Thanksgiving break, the volleyball referee said she will be enforcing more rules for these older girls!!  Soooo exciting!  This is going to get good!!  It's so fun watching them starting to spike the ball and actually having great volleys between the teams!!  No more boring games, they are all nail biters for sure!
First game we lost 25-23, second game we won 25-15, and third game we lost 25-20.

Great serve!!

Janiece was ready to help out her team mate just in case she didn't get it over the net.

So even though the  games we lost we were right behind the other team, they did a great job fighting!!
They have a week off for Thanksgiving, but can't wait for the following week for the next intense game!!
Go crushers!!

Cakes

Luckily I had Thurs, Fri, and Sat off this week.  Let me just tell you what I did from Wed night when I got off work until Fri around 2pm, I made cakes!!  lol.  :)

These were fun to do.  And I'm still in the process of finishing some cake pops for my mother-in-law's birthday, which is today.  They will just have to be a belated present since I'm working today :)
