Apparently Titus was not too happy that we were scheduling his time to arrive. So instead after we got home from our appointment I started having my contractions but I figured with all the Braxton Hicks that I was having, that was all that was going on. But around 7pm they started getting stronger but still only 10-15 mins apart. So I went to bed thinking it would end like they always do in a few hours, which they seemed like they did. Then at 12:30 am I woke up and was a bit damp, I thought my water broke but apparently it didn't, I guess it was the mucous plug. But whatever it was scared me enough to get Luke up and get to the hospital. Which was a good thing. When we got there I was dilated to 3, so they made us do a hour walk around the hospital and I was then dilated to 4 and hurting pretty bad.
So they admitted us and got us into our room I think around 3-330. They got me hooked up to an IV and did some blood work and said they would be back in 15 mins to get my epidural in. But after the 15 mins and some rough contraction pains, the nurse came in and said she had bad news. She said that my platelet count was low and so that I was not able to get an epidural, WHAT????? Talk about a let down when your in so much pain!! So the next couple hours were pure torture!! Luke said he got a pretty good laugh at the things coming out of my mouth when the contractions came and then when they were gone how fast I was back to myself. Finally, came the time to push and in about 30-45 mins later, Titus was out. Thank heaven it wasn't longer than that!! I remember telling the doctor as I could feel his head coming just to grab him and pull. Not a fun experience what so ever!!
But he came out at 8 pounds 4 oz and 20 1/2 inches and a very healthy and happy little boy!!
He took to breast feeding right away, which was a sign of relieve for me and just has been so good since! What a huge blessing!
